Built inside the old Washburn A Mill, once the largest flour producing mill in the world, the Mill City Museum depicts the importance of the flour industry in fueling the growth of Minneapolis during the 1880s, and details the flour mill history, from farming to processing, with hands-on exhibits and displays. The most impressive exhibit is the eight-story "Flour Tower", a multimedia elevator ride that describes the mill and the people that worked there. Built amidst a string of museums and tourist attractions along the Minneapolis Riverfront, a beautiful view of the river is available from the rooftop observation deck.
Open Tue. - Sat. 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; Sun. noon - 5:00 p.m.
Adults $10; Seniors and College Students $8; Children (6-17) $5; Children 5 and under are free. Flour Tower is free but tickets are limited.
